If you have a ukelele at home, please play along!! If you don't, watch and "air play" by pretending to move fingers to positions. If you have a guitar at home, you could still practice uke chords on first 4 strings only, but the key will be different, and will not match the video. That's OK, though, you're getting practice switching between chords! :) Have fun!
December 7th - 11th
Y5s - 3rd -- Join me LIVE next week for some fun Christmas Singing! Your teachers will let you know when!
4th/5th-- Please click button below and try the Trepak (from The Nutcracker) Body Percussion Activity! There are 5 symbols at the beginning. Pause there and decide which 5 motions YOU will do. Make up a "key" for yourself (like on a map).
I would suggest: plus sign= stomp, triangle=thigh slap, l= clap, square=tap shoulders(hands crossed), circle=tap head. When you get really good at the Body Percussion, switch to 5 different percussion sounds that you can find around your house. For instance, maybe the plus sign is a pencil tap or click, maybe the triangle is a tap on a pot lid, etc. Have fun with it! Be creative!! If you can video yourself performing it, please email it to me at [email protected]
